My grandma's 89th birthday is soon. I don't know what to buy her. We are taking her out to dinner, but I want to buy her a gift. Something that she will really like. She likes to draw. for Christmas we got her all kinds of drawing equipment. She really doesn't do much of anything else. Anybody have any ideas? I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks!

Maybe a family portrait or something like that , I`m not the best for ideas ...
What ever you get her I`m sure she will love it ...

How about a day of beauty with grandma. Hair salon, or pedicure then off to a favorite place that she would love to eat. Call ahead of time and ask if you could come in and display a piece of her art work on the wall. Most resteraunts do not mind and your grandma would love it. I surprised mine with a favorite picture of hers one time at red lobster. She was so thrilled. And yes that is a very lovely portrait of the tiger

My grandma is around the same age and she loves getting out, so on occasion....and I dont wait for her birthday, anymore...because they are too few and far between.....
So I go visit her and tell her I'm kid-napping her for the day....she likes going for coffee and sitting and chatting and remembering the days of her life.
Some of the stories are wonderful and since she has so much life experience I value her advice! I value my time spent with her like this, no one else can tell me about her life like she can!
Since she loves art so much, you're right to get her all those drawing/art supplies!
With her age, I'm guessing in a few years....these pieces of art will be priceless and treasured!

So I was thinking....maybe giving your grandma a date book (with larger print, of course) that she can let you know what days she's availiable to go get coffee with you....
my grandma likes dunkin donuts and Borders. I take her, we sit, we talk, it's a great time for the two of us!
