No way! i think there are just as many good women drivers that there are men. If anything i think women might be safer drivers. i think they are a bit more responsible at times. I think women are better at weighing in the consequenses of bad decitions in trafic

There are good and bad drivers regardless of gender. In general terms it is perceived that men THINK they are better drivers, whereas the insurance companies KNOW that women are better drivers.

LOL, you made me smile, I take it it was a typo and do you think men are better drivers than WOmen ;0) Well speaking from a guy's point of view I would definitely say men, as I get slapped down by the women responding to this discussion. No, to be truthful there are good and bad drivers in both men and women, same goes for people.

I would say it is probably fifty fifty . I believe that men and women are equally good and bad drivers .
They do say though that insurance is higher for men though because they do tend to get in more accidents as they don't have the same fears as women do that anything will happen .

Did you mean to say better drivers than women? Personally, I think that there are good male drivers and good female drivers. I know there are also bad male drivers and bad female drivers...a few I know that I will never get in a car with again! I think a person's ability to be level headed on the road has a lot more to do with what kind of driver they are than their gender.

I do not agree with this. I believe myself to be a perfectly good and very safe driver.
Maybe the in the past this was the case but perhaps that was because more men drove than women. That isnt the case anymore and I think women are able to drive just as good and in some instances much better than men.
Who would you say was safer a 17 year old boy or a 30 year old woman? I know who I would choose.

Hey, I think u made a mistake ova thr...
Neways, i think its nt who is a better driver. Its all abt driving safe. Men may be better drivers than women, but more men are caught in accidents than women. So, its just tht how u follow the rules on the road. The one who strictly follows is better.

LOL Good discussion. There are equally good and bad drivers in both genders, but I'm sorry I have to put my money on the woman being the better driver. I work in the insurance industry and woman almost always get better rates. Why? Because statistically they are safer, have fewer accidents, tickets, etc..That's why a 17 year old male pays more than a 17 year old female, and it works this way until the male reaches about age 30. Married couples also get better rates than single people. So who's a better driver, the single person or hte married one?

Inherently, I don't believe either gender to be better drivers, however, because there are a greater portion of men who enjoy driving and do it more than the average woman, I believe that the experience leads to them being better drivers in the long term.

I think in their teen years, men or boys are worse drivers than woman or girls. They tend to speed more and are very careless. As the get older, I think that me tend to drive a bit more cautious. I would tend to think that woman are in general more careful drivers than men. Men just want us to believe they are better.
