I can't stand the sight of needles. I can't even watch them on tv without almost fainting. If I have to have a shot they have to hold me down with 3 people and I start hyperventilating. I hate the fact that I have this exaggerated fear. I'm just wondering what phobias are out there, and what do you do about them?

I don't know if mine is an actual phobia, but I have a thing about eyes. I can't stand looking at someone touching their eyeball. I can't stand watching shows where they do stuff to the eyes, such as medical shows that show eye operations. I am incapable of taking eye drops even.

You are not alone in your fear of needles. I have been the same way my whole life. I can't watch them on TV either I have to look away. Donating blood will never happen either. I wish I could, I know I should but I can't. When the doctor sends me for blood tests I freak out. I have to be bribed by family and friends to go. They make me lie down after until the colour returns to my face. I know they don't hurt that much, but it is an irrational fear I can't get over. I hate dentists too. I think it may be related to the needle thing, but dentists scare the heck out of me. I have to be sedated before I go. I'm such a baby for an adult!
