teaching - the noblest profession of all?

I am currently an engineer working for an International Semiconductor company. I have experienced several jobs prior to the current one that I have. The best of which (even compared to the job that I have now) is teaching. In the Philippines, teaching is not a very good source of income that is why many teachers or educators for that matter are seeking for greener pasteurs abroad. While it's true that teaching is not a profession for "money-making", I consider it the noblest and the most rewarding. No amount of bonus or incentive could ever match the joy and the fulfillment when you see your students graduate and afterwhich land on good jobs. It's like having a child, you as teacher being the surrogate mother. My profession as a teacher ended about 4 years ago but I still nurture the overwhelming feeling of how it was to be a mentor up to this day. It warms my heart that even if 4 years had passed, my former students would still greet and call me "MA'AM" whenever and wherever I meet them. :)

This is the reason I wish teachers were paid better salaries. We all need to make a living and at the end of the day we have to go with the better paying jobs just to make ends meet. A lot of teachers here have moved over to private schools (that are expensive) and they get paid decent salaries. I will pray for all good teachers to get paid decently.

I agree with you that teaching profession is the most noblest profession. It is respectful and very responsible job. I still remember teachers of my school and college and miss them too much.

Teachers are the moulders of a nation, everybody should and respects a teacher whatever his qualification are. My dad is a teacher and he use to tell me that i have taught a thousand, i have opened eyes to a thousands and i am proud of it. Our life is a lesson to be learned and teachers are there to guide and give us what is the right thing to get the right lessons. Like you mentioned here income is not like other jobs but they are superior to any other kind of profession. Good luck to you and may god bless you

Yes, because you are always learning new ones everyday. You are doing a lot of research. You should not be contented on what is you know. You should not limit your knowledge so that when somebody asked you questions you should answer without hesitation.
