I have a mini schnauzer that is so hyper. I rescued him from the pound and can see why he ended up there! He is big for a mini but is very high strung like the breed is known for. We thought he has ADD!! He doesnt seem to want to take enough time to sit still to learn anything. Any good sites I can go to would be wonderful so respond and let me know! Thanks all!

Our schnauzer is also over sized for the breed--- but ALL schnauzers can be super active for the first few years! They are so INTERESTED in everything, so make sure he has lots of toys, and room to run! What we did was to set aside times during the day to play with Spud and basically wear him out! He was the easiest dog I've ever worked with in terms of housebreaking, teaching tricks, etc...they only SEEM like they're not listening! They respond VERY well to high praise, and to treats! We thought that neutering would be the answer, but it wasn't. Our boy started to settle down about the time he turned 3... he will be 14 on Christmas Eve, and is still in good health-- he even has most of his teeth, which are a problem for Schnauzers... we have always used Vita Bone treats and I thinks thats why! He jumps and dances when we come home just like he did when he was a pup! He has 2 rat terrier 'sisters' who are just as busy as he was-- one is 5 yrs and one is 3 months... we are not gluttons for punishment, they are just such smart animals, and so loving to us that we can't imagine life without them! Your boy will be a treasure to you as well, if you can get past this stage. Don't give up!!
