These were the words spoken by a fellow myLotian when I was saying that alot of people do not pay attention to my posts.
For anyone who doens't know what a cocky so and so it is someone who is arrogant basically.
Do you feel there is any truth in this. Please speak honestly as this is not the way I intent to come across!

the people convey can be hard sometimes, especially on the net, all things get lost such as emotion, feeling etc. I know many times I've misinterpreted, but such is life, those who get to know you well will know its not how you intended your words to be.

No Claire - I wouldn't say you're a cocky so and so at all. You talk plainly, and tell it like it is, but that doesn't make you cocky in my opinion. I wouldn't take any notice of this person at all - I always enjoy your posts, and reply to as many as I can, and I know many other people here feel the same.

I noticed you sertainly have been making the rounds on mine tonight.
I'm sorry I was away for a while. had some ironing to do. It just gives my addiction the drive it needs though.
You don't know how much you love something til its gone.

I can't think of any of your posts that have made you look like a "cocky so and so" so I can't think what they mean. I suppose you could ask them to expand on that comment but really I wouldn't worry about it. Some people just open their mouths for the sake of making a noise (or type for the sake of making a post or ... however they made the comment!)

If you'll allow me this much, your cute but i don't think so a written word can be cocky. Its just a matter of how the reader or at what state of emotion one is in. There maybe things we don't like what we read but hey were not putting discussions that will be into law soon - even them senate & congress cant do no better either - & surely i wont be expecting any topic here will be the my next Sundays sermon.
Your just fine whatever you write, of course as long as the guidelines of myLot is followed otherwise that spells trouble for your earnings.
Keep the ideas flowing & you're just doin fine.

I think some people forget that a typed word is much different than the spoken word because of mainly one thing: you can decipher the emotion of the poster, whereas when words are spoken, it is easy to read the emotions of the speaker. Throw in the fact that there are many ethnic groups on here, where one simple statement can have different meanings to different people.

It is a bit of a nigthmare how written word can not be interpretated the same way as the spoken work is intended.

You don't strike me as the least bit cocky. I think someone has drawn unfounded conclusions and is perhaps being a little too judgemental?

A phrase that I use is "I speaks as I finds", and older people (like myself!!) sometimes use it as an excuse for being rude, I think a lot of the time people just don't read all of your original discussion, and respond to what they think you have written, not what you actually did write, so they get upset if you point that out to them, and it is them who are so arrogant that they don't like being correct.
I've already annoyed someone else tonight by pointing out that a site they were promoting did not allow members from outside U.S. or Canada, and I was told not to write anything that was not true (I re-checked the site rules, and it clearly stated they would cancel any membership which used an ISP address from outside U.S or Canada).
Keep up with what you are doing, if someone doesn't reply to what you have actually written then they should be corrected (diplomatically if necessary). I've never found you arrogant.

I don't remember reading any topic of yours that sound cocky. I know I didn't always respond but I could see and read my friends' topics before deciding to respond.
:) yes I know what cocky is, thanks to my husband! I read some of the topics you started and didn't see anything cocky there. People just had a bad day with cocky people outside mylot, don't lose sleep over it. It's just one of those days and now they could read this post where you said you didn't mean to sound cocky anyway.

There is nothing wrong with saying what you feel. That is what an open forum is all about.
Just ignore one person who makes a ridiculous comment, after all, there are over 80,000 members on mylot and you are sure to find that a few are not very sensitive to others feelings..
Just go on saying what you feel and not what you think others want to hear..........
