Where do your children go or where WILL they go? I can't answer this as I have no children but I can say I am 23 and have been out of high school for about 6 years and boy has school changed. I never had to fear when I went to school now it seems as if every month something drastic is going on at a school somewhere.

I applaud those parents that homeschool their children as it seems that those children are way smarter however, I believe that those children miss out on the socialization that we all need when we are growing up. I went to a public school for 3 years (highschool). It was horrible. Kids were picked on, the education was substandard and the teachers didn't give a shyt. They were only there putting in time before retirement. I transfered for the last 2 years to a Catholic highschool. We all wore uniforms and at the time I really didn't like this idea but no kid was made fun of because he/she couldn't afford Nike or Hilfiger because we just didn't know. We all had the same uniforms. I find that the education at this Catholic school was A+ and I learned a lot more there than at the public board. Also at this school they seemed to ahve a better overall budget. We went on a lot more school trips and instead of just talking about a subject we would go to a museum etc... to help us learn. As for the teachers they seemed more into their work but...? I can't say for sure.

I want my future children to go to private schools. I want them to experience the life of being a student in a real school. I want them to boost up their confidence, be responsible, grow up mature, independent and strong of course. All the experiences in school will actually help them to develop their character and build their confidence.

I sent my sons to public school but that was before things got really intense. In an ideal situation I would send my children to public school part time and then they would do more learning at home. Public school adds the element of real worldly impact that one cannot get in the home setting. Learning to get along with others is important and having the child at home insulates them too much form the dangers inherent in being human.

I agree with you the schools has changed I have homeschool my daughter because I didn't agree on how things were going and the teacher just don't teach and also it was church related. She learned alot from homeschool and they do have activities too.
