Which laptop brand to buy?

I'm looking for a good laptop and I'm choosing between Acer and Compaq because they both fit in my budget. They don't vary that much in specs. What are your experiences about this brands? Or would you recommend another brand you prefer.

I have had very good luck with Compaq laptops. The one I'm using right now is Compaq Presario M2000, and it works like a dream. I love it!!!

I had used compaq laptop... and having problem with the power pack... As far as i know... Toshiba is the best... Its heavy duty laptop... but the price is expensive... Now i'm using DELL laptop... Its good... the after sales servise also good... i had bought PCMCIA card from DELL to upgrade my laptop recently... and they support me with the option... Any way... DELL is the best...

I highly recommend you to purchase Toshiba brands. Quality speaks for it.
