Maple Syrup craving.....is this normal?

maple syrup - A bottle of Pure Maple Syrup
United States

My last trip to the grocery store I picked up a few bottles of Pure Grade A Dark Amber maple syrup. Now I can't seem to get enough of it. I put it in my coffee in place of sugar. I drizzle it over cereal and sandwiches. I even drink it straight from the bottle. I drank nearly a pint of it yesterday alone. I'm beginning to think it's becoming an addiction and I'm worried that I may need to seek professional help. Does anyone know of a local chapter of MSA (maple syrup anonymous)that I could look into? Is this even normal?

actually it desn't add a bad taste to coffee at all and not much is needed to sweeten it well. It also works as an excellent marinade for meats

Your a freak man!!! And I am only going to say this once...Step away from the syrup bottle! LMAO hahahaha Here is another for ya. Leggo Eggo Waffles. Toast them, put peanut butter on them, and them add the syrup. This is what my kids love to do to waffles AND pancakes. Me personally...I can't stand syrup. Unless it is Hershey's Syrup...but I am not allowed to have that anymore. And if you have not already gained 20 pounds from your massive syrup consumption...you should probably slow down now before you realize it it too late. ha ha

Well, ever since I posted this about 3 weeks ago, I have cut back to about a half of a bottle a day. I guess that's a start. I have however been addicted to Hershey's syrup for quite awhile. I keep a 7lb jug of it here as I go through quite a bit of it on a regular basis.

Relax, its just a symptom of cabin fever.lol. Maple syrup is a symbol of spring that just doesn't seem to becoming this year. There were times when I lived in Ontario that I was considering sucking on the branches of maple trees or importing some summer birds just to get a little taste of spring. My daughter is like you, she pours maple syrup on her bacon and eggs even and its a lot more expensive out here in Calgary than back east. By the way, you will know when you've had too much the day you can't get of the toilet for more than a few minutes at a time. It has the effect on your bowels a spring tonic would.

You are lucky, its $8 Canadian per half pint here in Calgary! Howevr, i used to be able to get it for $21 per half gallon in eastern Ontario right from the sugar shack my cousin's son worked at.
