I live in the area of the Arctic Circle and this is a region of sharp contrasts. In winter the daylight comes about 9 AM and during summer - especially around summer solstice there is no night at all.
I enjoy seeing the sun just touch the horizon and then start going up again. I wonder when the birds sleep during this time but maybe they take turns in singing through the night.
There is a nearby river and a bridge here and if you stand there during midnight about June 21 turned to the north, you can see the sun build a glittering bridge of light on the water.

I enjoyed taking morning walks out with my mom when I was little. Usually we took the winding road up the hill behind our apartment and stopped at anywhere we felt like and stayed there until it was time for her to go to work and me to go to school. We often talked about just anything that popped up, and sometimes I would even bring my drawing board - not particularly for the scenery or anything. It was the very ambient that appealed to me.
As I grew, my life has completely changed. And I no longer have that much time to take a morning walk with my mom or anyone. As much as I'd like to, something's just out your control. So early mornings for me, have become the time for waiting for our water heater to heat up the water for showers I take before classes. Before college, it was the time for breakfast and sessions of self-study. I sure miss the good old days with much less to worry about and much less to attend to.
From time to time I take evening walks after dinner though. Most of those walks are within the university campus - on the way to and from the bakery where I usually I buy toasts and buns for breakfast for the next morning.

Yes, like you I love to walk in the morning especially on a beautiful sunny day when the birds are singing and you see other people out walking with their babies in strollers or walking their dogs. It's a great way to start off the day on a good foot...literally.

I always want to go for morning walks, but either, I get busy, or else, I just can't get moving! The perfect time for me to walk would be after I drop the kids off at school, but when I get home, I just get caught up with other things. I need to make that a goal, especially since I've recently gained more weight!
