Is your glass half empty or half full?

There are two kinds of people in this world. The pessimists and the optimists. Those who feel victimized and those who do something about their situations but how important is one's outlook or intentions? We might verbalize all over and over again that we want to do something good with our lives but if we have no faith in our ability to do so or if we do not rely on the goodness of God to guide us through and trust in His decisions, no matter how much they might baffle us or pain us then are we just living comatose lives?

Mine is half-full. I can see lots of possibilities. When you feel empty, it's like you are nothing. But since we are here in this world, I know we have a purpose. God gave us gifts, just like a glass which is half-full or half empty, and it depends on us if we are going to enrich it, maintain it or have it vanish forever.

I have to admit I have been a glass is half empty kind of person most of my life. Its very bad on the individual psychology of anyone to be too negative. I have heard it said we choose a life of meaning or a life of happiness. I still dotn understand why we cant do both. Why cant we find the middle ground in ourselves to be happy but also help those around us without feeling over burdened. I guess to be a completely centered person we should look as the glass as just being the glass, neither half full or empty.

My husband and I are opposites on this argument. I always like to see the glass as half full. He always sees it as half empty. It tends to bring a little tension to our marriage sometimes, especially when things are financially tight. But, I still always see that glass half full!
