When Professionalism is ruined by Personal EGO

The company for which I was previously working.. turned back on me.. as personal ego of my manager... took the better part of his professional judgment.. though I was the best technical guy in my group.. who had the future to rise to greater heights in the same organization and as well as help the group grow... the company turned its back on me based on negative feedback from my manager... as his personal ego was being jeopardized... Frankly though he might think that he has won the battle and made life difficult for me.. but by GOD's grace.. all my close friends and colleagues have rallied behind me.. against that rash decision... which will jeopardize the company's image severely.. can't help sometimes company's take wrong decisions in jiffy.. Is there anybody who has faced similar situation? And is this activity suitable for Image of a company in a long run?? Kindly Comment... This would help me dispel lot of my doubts. Thanks in advance
