What does Christianity mean to you? Is it just joining a religious group w/ the hope of going to heaven after death? How important is it to you?

While Christianity is the name given to the "religion" of the followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, I submit that there is a vast difference between the religion known as Christianity and actually BEING a Christian.
Many people SAY there are Christian and yet do not follow Christ. It is merely their "religion" as distinct from being a heathen, a pagan, or following any other god.
Religion is any belief believed in the HEAD.
Christ-ianity is being in a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with Christ. Being a Christian is believing with the HEART and therefore it affects the whole of life.
I have known, loved and served my loving heavenly Father, through the Lord Jesus Christ, for 48 of my 70 years. In those 48 years, I have known the REALITY of a personal relationship, spending time each day talking with my Father and learning from Him as He reveals more of His Word to me. He has guided me, taught me, corrected me, challenged me, encouraged me, and undertaken for me in so many, many ways.
How important is this to me? Jesus is everything to me. He is my Saviour, my Redeemer, my coming Lord.

I am so blessed w/ your response. Yes, I totally agree that being a Christian is not just being a part of some kind of a group (religion). I believe that it is actually a life. It is not just being good from being bad, or not just being changed but it is more of Christ life being manifested in us and through us. Thankyou and God bless you.
