Although I am a vegetarian, I don't like tofu at all. Maybe because my husband prepares it wrong. I would love to tell him what you suggested, but what on earth is North African slow cooker sauce? I've never heard of it.

Here is a good recipe. You can substitute tofu for the lamb.

I used to be a vegetarian. I still eat very little meat or poultry unless it is something like Crown Chicken, which I get very infrequently. Anything that tastes like meat, I don't like. Crown Chicken does not have that fleshy taste.

I haven't really tried anything other than slicing it up and putting it in my salads, but I'd love to try other things. I love tofu!

my healthy fat free tofu favorite is to steamed it together with my meatballs or sometimes bake with meatloaf or patties with cheese then serve with white rice, mixed vegetable salad a glass of orange juice. so perfect!

I think there are tons of ways to eat tofu, and all of them are pretty nice. Tofu isn't doesn't have a strong taste so it sort of complements whatever thing it is in. I quite like them in my curry. ;-)

I like to make it as a breakfast burrito for a quick pick-me-up. I use a pound of firm tofu. Fry it up with some olive oil until it starts to brown. Then I add nutitional yeast for flavor. Then you can add mushrooms, onions, green peppers, zucchinni, or anything else that sounds good. Then cook until veggies are tender. MMmmmm Mmmm good!

That sounds so good...and I have some nutritional yeast here, too.

I get the firm tofu and cut it into small cubes. I mix up 3 tbs. hoisin sauce with 1tbs. dry sherry, and 1tsp. sesame oil, then stir fry in peanut oil quartered and sliced onions, chopped broccoli, and frozen peas. I add a little bit of diced cooked pork and 1 dried hot red pepper, chopped up. After that's cooks for a few minutes, I add the tofu and cook for a minute. I add the hoisin sauce mixture, stirring to coat, and serve immediately over rice. I like to make this really spicy with more hot red pepper, but you can tone it down according to your taste.
