How to get known around town?

Anyone have any ideas as of how to spread the word about my new business around town? I already have a website, I just need to find out a way to get the word out around town, so then I get business. Thanks

How about delivering flyers around town - it might cost a bit to make and print out but then again if your any good with computer software programs, you can design them yourself and print them off too, and ask a few friends/family to help you deliver them to letterboxes. You can even ask shop owners/cafes if you can put a few in their stores or even their windows if they allow it.
craigslist.org is another popular site you can post messages on about your business too :) good luck!
