Wedding vowels!

When my husband and I got married 13 years ago, we decided to do our own wedding vowels. The pastor that was marrying us was not happy about it because he wanted us to do his ones. On the day of our wedding we were doing the vowels, my husband had the one that he wrote out but the pastor changed mine to the one he wanted. I didn't want to make a scene at my wedding so I just did it. My wedding vowel basically said that I will obey my husband and if I didn't, then my husband could punish me. We were very upset about this at the time. Now we look back and laugh about it, when my husband asks me for something, he will say as a joke, remember our wedding vowels. I am glad that we can laugh and joke about it now because back then, I didn't think I would be able to.

That's so terrible... I'm glad you have good memories of it now though. I think there is nothing more romantic than writing your own wedding vows. Maybe as an anniversary present one day you could give your husband the vows that you wrote.

That sounds like a great idea, I could probably add some more things in it too. It may not be all good either, lol! No I wouldn't do that to him really, I would consider doing the vow's that I had orignally had and add some more good things in it. Thanks!

Gosh, thats bad. I hope that your husband hasnt had to punish you yet. Maybe the pastor had the impression that you were going to marry him and not your husband. Im glad that you can laugh about it after 13 years though.

Well if that is what the pastor thought then he was wrong big time. I was 18 and the pastor was in his 80's. lol! I am glad that we can laugh about it too. Thanks!

I'm glad that you can look back and laugh at it. And I thought it was wedding vows - not wedding 'vowels'!

You are absolutely right. I can't believe that I have done that. I knew when I was looking at the word that it didn't seem right, but I couldn't think of how the word was. As soon as I saw your response, I thought to myself, I knew that, how could I get that wrong? I guess this is what happens when you get tired. Thanks for correcting me on this. I still can't believe I did that. Thanks!
