i was given a samsung D500 by a friend who bought it on a monthly contract.the phone is locked on to the 0range network.i bought a new orange chip so i could use the phone. i can't get the number of the new chip on the phone, in fact it won't even let me ring customer services. it sez network unavailable when i try to connect to orange world, and when i try to make any kind of call it sez emergency calls only. it sez limited service on the home screen. the previous owner is up to date with the monthly bills.the contract chip that he's kept needs a puk code because he entered the wrong pin three times and has asked me to see if i can get the code for him. can i do this, or does he have to ring up himself? and what can i do to register my chip i don't know the number to, and once registered will it activate all of the phones functions. could anyone help me please.thankyou.

You need to contact the Orange network to have the number reset. If possible,go into a retail outlet so that they may look at your phone and ensure that your chip has been installed correctly.
