As long as you can remember, what is your earliest memory as a child?

I was 5, I tried to join my 3-year old and 1-year old sisters playing. They end up pushing me and I fell on the stairs. Glad I didn't break any bone.

We had moved to a new town because of my fathers work. Laramie Wyoming. We were there only for two years but that is what I have as my first memories. I was 4-5 years old. I have 4 other siblings and one was born there. I remember mother coming home from the hospital. And I remember the snow and Christmas time. Our house was quite small and the only heat was a potbelly stove in the dinning room. Of course the cook stove in the kitchen helped. This was in the 1940's and job's were very hard to come by. I have never been sure why my father never went to war. It was a blessing for us however. I have no idea how people made it back then if part of the family was gone. These were hard times for everyone. Very. It truly makes you greatful for everything you have no matter how little. I remember standing on the sidewalk one day and watching a fire truck go by. I thought that must be the greatest job in the world. I became a firefighter in my 20's for about 4 years. LOL Fate stepped in however and my life's work was in computers. But I will never forget those 2 years.
