my cabinet is overflowing with old clothes. i always say i don't have enough clothes but when my friends see my cabinet, they just gasp at how many pairs of pants i have. truth is, i think i only use about 1/4 of my clothes. mostly are from ages ago, i keep it thinking i'll either lose weight or that polka dots will soon be in fashion. it's just hard to let go of my clothes. how i wish i could just give them away but when i sort through them, i end up putting them back in the cabinet, thinking that i will wear them soon. soon happens to be never.
how about you? do you have clothes sitting in your cabinet from your teenage years that you never use anymore?

OMG! ok, so I have been pregnant twice in the kast 3 years. I have so many different sizes of clothes in my drawers that I could probably start a store =) I keep them in the hopes I will get back to the sizes, and it has helped as I lose weight from this past pregnancy, I can go back to them. So, yes I do.

yes, because they are often a lot cuter than the ones I wear now. I have size 7's to size 15's When I gave birth 6 months ago, I could wear the 15's but now, I am down to the 11's and 12's (these being jeans.) and I am working my way back down to those 7's. I think when I go in my drawer and see those sevens, it gives me motivation...Sometimes I like to hang up a cute outfit in those sizes on the door of my closet, so I see it everyday and it gives me motivation to exercise and eat right, When I finally get into those again, I will be so proud of myself.

I used to keep my favourite dresses even though they didnot fit me anymore.Just for the sake of sentimental attachment. And for some pleasant memories attached with that dress. But after getting married,I have moved so much in 6 yrs that I am finished hoarding things, leave alone dresses.I simply cannot afford to keep things that I don;t use anymore because we don;t know when we will be moving next and it is not like a local move.My husband works for a multinational and we move from one country to another.so now I just keep throwing things out.But I have kept a few of my favourites at my parents place so that when we go back and settle in our home country,I can probably use them now.I have lost a lot of weight since I had my daughter.I almost look the size I was when I was in school/college.

do you think that if you didn't move around that often that your cabinet would be filled with so many different dresses with different memories? i think that the reason it's hard to let go of some clothes is because of the memories attached to it. it's like forgetting the anniversary or that birthday.
good for you! you look like the size you were when you were in college. i don't think i can ever go back to that.

OMG I'm one of the biggest culprits when it comes to hoarding clothes. I have clothes that went out of fashion with the ark which I barely wore when they were in fashion but I can't bear to throw them out because they're barely used! LOL! I have some clothes which I can't even fit into but I keep them thinking I'll lose enough weight one day to fit into them again (yeah right, that'll be the day) LOL! My husband keeps telling me to give them away to charity but I just have to hold onto them, I know it's mad and selfish but I just can't let go of so many items of clothing. Maybe I need counselling? x

Oh yes. I do! I have a real problem when it comes to getting rid of old stuff, when I decide to put them away - throw or give, I can't leave those things! We should cout time (even years) that passed since we used some thing last time and judge by that... If you managed to live without a certain piece of clothes for 2 years, you will be able to live without it in future too, so it means that you don't need it anymore.
There are few pieces of clothes neither my mom or I are wearing, but we will keep them, but the rest can go... Unfortunatelly, I never stick to to what I've just wrote :|

I am a type of person that i usually keep my clothes in my cabinet. My cabinet is always overflowing. I rarely give my clothes but when i do i always give those clothes that are still wearable and nice to look at.

i will still keep my things inside my cabinet even if i dont use it, but i sort it and take things ones in a while and put them in a box. During christmas i give some of them to my relatives, but i give them to those who i know will take good care of my clothes, cuase they look new cause i took good care of them.

I am a big-time packrat when it comes to clothes. I've got plenty of clothes from when I was in college and some even from high school still in my closet. I don't know why I don't just take them to Goodwill. Somebody might actually wear them! I need to clean out my closets and would probably find all the storage space I need for my other "stuff". You may have inspired me to do just that! Thanks. My motto would be to get rid of anything you didn't wear in the last season. That would narrow my wardrobe right on down. I wear scrubs to work, so I don't even need many real clothes anyway!!

i know how you feel, janalynn1! i always think somebody else might benefit from my clothes but then it's just so hard to let them go. funny thing is, there are some clothes i've never worn and never will. i'm generous with other stuff but not letting of old clothes. i can't explain it. haha.
i'm glad i've inspired you to clean out your closet. i myself need some inspiration to just let go! not just with clothes but some other emotions and memories i'm carrying.

I don't hang onto anything that doesn't fit anymore or if I don't like how it fits or just don't care for it anymore . I can't stand having things around the house that I am not using or don't figure I will have use for .
I probably still have a few things from when I was a teenager but they would still fit me as basically I am still the same size , mabye a little bigger but not much . My shape has changed more then anything from being pregnant seven times but not enough for others to notice , only myself for when I put something on and I don't care for how it fits anymore .

I used to keep most of my clothes just in case i fitted into them again or something. Eventually, i just decided to give them all to charity as if i do lose or put on weight, I will just buy new clothes as those ones will be old and out of fashion.

Same here. I have lots of clothes that they are practically bursting out of my wardrobes. For clothes that don't fit, I just continue keeping them. You will never know when your size changes again. :P

I kept all my clothes before I got pregnant. After delivering my baby I tried them on and I was so disappointed that it didnt fit me. :( Until now they are still in my closet keeping them, hoping ans wishing that someday I will fit in those clothes again.
