Yes, you get paid for that!

I'm always surprised when people don't do certain things on this site because they think they don't get paid or credit for it. You get paid for everything you do here. Now, how much, I can't tell you. They have a system for that. But, I do know when I don't do something, I get paid less.

I also beleive that myLot must be taking into consideration each and every activity we do on myLot for deciding our earnings and for our reputation.I get this feeling as their payouts and ratings are different for different members.Further they themselves tell in their guidelines that their mathmaticians have put in a lot of hard work in deriving the algorithem for the payouts. Also their are many discussions devoted to the things which will help in increasing the earnings. If you don't do something , say for example ypu don't rate the responses, then I think the payout rate will not include the rate they must have decided for ratings. So you will not be paid for ratings.I must add that these are all guesses as there is nothing certain about what mylot do in deriving the earnings for its members.

Yes, that's true. We really don't know exactly how Mylot pays and I do think they pay everyone differently. But, I have noticed that since I've been getting "totally involved" with all the features of this site, I have been earning way more. Like someone else said in another discussion, "if you do half the work, you get half the pay".

Yes, desertdarlene, we get paid for all activity, participation, images we download and the referrals we bring to the site. I think sometimes people may not realize that MyLot grades on the quality of the activities we do. We get paid based on the quality, length, and description of our posts, for tagging our posts with descriptive and traffic-drawing keywords as well as having different images on our posts via uploading pictures. We also need to rate our discussions and mark best responses, so people will get feedback. I also recommend posting individual responses to your discussion questions/comments if the number is small enough for you based on your typing speed and time. Take care.

Yes, thanks for your answer. I know when I was new here, I didn't get paid a lot for my time because I didn't do any of the other things other than post and comment. Now, I do all of them and get paid a lot better.

How much do I get per post??? First of all why should MyLOt pay me for postings? I really do not understand this system.

I think it's really against Mylot policy to discuss how much each of us have earned. I know there are other people who do, but I won't. I will just say that I have been paid twice and will be paid again for last month. You don't get paid until you reach $10.

People seem to think that they get paid only for things that increase the number next to their name. They don't realize that mylot gives out payments based on a lot of other factors. And one factor is that they will take money away from you if you have a pattern of giving a lot of negatives.

Yes, that's exactly right. People think that if your points don't go up, then you don't get paid. But, EVERYTHING you do here affects how you get paid. They take everything into consideration. You're also right about Mylot taking money away. They also take money away for inappropriate responses and discussions, too.

Hmmm. Let's see if I can help you by asking these questions, making these suggestions:
Do you always give a quality response. That is, do you always write at least 2 to 4 lines or longer on each response?
Do you ever comment on other people's responses?
Do you ever comment on people's responses on your own discussions? Do you start discussions?
Do you rate every post you see?
Do you ever give anyone best response on your discussions?
Have you ever gotten best response?
If you have done all these, then I can't help you. I don't know how Mylot pays everyone and they may be paying different ways for different people.

Well, there is one thing I know you do not get Paid for, and that is when you Add in photos in your profile photos area. But as far as I know all of the other things a person might want to do in here, you do get paid for. And as for how much, I truly believe like you, there is no Rhyme nor reason to it. It just depends on what they decide a Discussion or post you might make is worth. All I know is I am not here for just the money, as there is way more to this site than this, but I am still enjoying being here.

I agree. I mean, no one is going to make a living here unless they are hired by Mylot. We are all here for fun and the money doesn't hurt.

Really? Can you give examples? Do you mean if a person doesn't make any tags they get less pay? I agree with you on that because I have also noticed that my pay is not as good as when I don't something, but the system can sometimes vary. If you are doing the same thing everyday, your pay can go up more or less. A person could just make 50 posts a day and could get paid anywhere from $1-2 dollars a day. I try to set goals every day to earn a certain amount while of course having fun on this website. Now, I see your point though. Mylot has a lot of options for people to get paid. I once read some where in a discussion of a guy who got paid for customizing his profile. I don't know if that's true, but it might be. Just wanted to share what I thought.

When I first started here last year, I only wrote short answers to discussions and never tagged, rated, or much else. When I started doing all these things, I started getting paid a lot more. I think the amounts for what you do differ. I don't think you get paid as much to rate as you do to write responses, for example. But, you still get paid. I seem to notice that it's how much I write and not necessarily how many discussions I answered. On one day, I did mostly comments like this one, but I still got paid a good amount.
I started this discussion because someone (and others) would say "well, I'm not going to do that because I don't get paid". Well, you get paid for do everything here, pretty much.

Yes, you get paid for adding tags, adding pictures (after you reach 500), rating people, writing comments, starting discussions and writing responses. Just about everything you do, you get paid for. So, if you want to get paid the most, you must do the most.

I'm not sure where I read that or found out about it. I think part of it is mentioned somewhere either in the guidelines or the part where it talks about increasing your earnings (under the FAQ, I think). I also know that my earnings have greatly increased since I started doing all the things that I've listed. When I didn't do them, I only got paid about 1/2 as much.

I know what you mean. I used to only rate people sparingly. Now, I do it for almost every post I see. I know that some posts are just too hard to rate, so I sometimes leave them unrated.

I've heard that you don't get paid for tags so I stopped doing it, but I guess I will start again. Whether it's true or not, it won't hurt. :)
What I do is comment and rate every response or almost every repsonse people give to my discussions. I reply to other discussions and sometimes rate other discussions' responses or comments if I feel strongly about it. I upload pictures to discussions I start and once I make 500 posts I will upload them to my responses. Now I guess I will start doing tags again!

Hey, thanks. I know that everything you do here is calculated into your payment. I don't know exactly how much you get paid for what, but I know if you want maximum amount of bang for your work, you should do everything you can.

I knew it! I have been told by so many members that you couldn't get any money for responses and ratings...so I did a little experiment.
For one day I only responded to and rated one question and made 4 cents. So YES they do pay for everything! Rating you a positive!

I kinda did the same thing and I've noticed that I got paid more, too. People also say you don't get credit for comments, but I think you actually do because on days where I don't do any, I don't seem to get paid as much. But, I think the amount you get paid may be less than if you write out a full response.

Thanks for this fab info, i sometimes add tags and sometimes rate discussions however i did not know that money was deducted for patterns of negative rating! I am now however trying to tag more and trying to rate more comments, i dont really know why i didnt to begin with!
I love interacting on mylot and its even better to get paid for it!
Thanks again for you're info, keep up the good posts :)

Thanks for your encouragement! I don't know if you get deductions for negative ratings or not. It's possible, but I really don't know. I know my rating has fallen sometimes, but I don't get paid any less.

so far, ive gotten earnings from responses, responses to my discussions, hopefully best responses. My highest in one day is 66c. I wonder if we get paid for adding comments - because that doesn't add on to our tally next to our name and we can only comment and not respond to our own discussions.

I've usually get that much from posting about 18 or so responses a day, but it varies. I've heard of other people making well over $2 a day on even fewer responses. That's why I don't go around telling people what I get paid because there really is not set amount.
On some days, I only write comments on my own discussions like I am doing now and have gotten paid. You just can't say "Thank You" and nothing else. Just because the number next to your name doesn't go up doesn't mean that you don't get paid for your activity.

Yes, I've noticed that since I started doing more of the things that people said I wouldn't get paid for, I have actually started earning more per post. This means I can spend less time here and earn more.

I do everything you have suggested. I agree with you...the more you do...the more you get paid. i also rate every discussion I answer or start. I rate everyone who replies to one of my discussion. I always rate a plus. Unless the person breaks the my lots rules.

Thanks you two. I don't know the exact earning rates, either, and there is no way to accurately discuss them. I also rate people positive unless they go against guidelines, too.

Very good points and you are right. Everything we do adds to the whole amount. How much you post, the quality of the post, discussions, comments, tags, photos, ratings, everything is counted in the earnings. I have found that on days when I do everything and anything I can I earn more then I do when I just do the basics. Not sure how much of a difference but there is a difference. I figure though everything I can do towards earning I will so that I can make more. In the words of Daffy duck "I'm a greedy little miser" and I'll do all I can to make the most I can :)

Thanks! If you are doing all you can, then that's all you can do. I can't believe how many people say that they don't do things because they don't get paid. If they would start doing them, they would find out that it all counts.

Thank you for starting this discussion. It is better to learn from members than try and find things in FAQ. I have been adding tags but sometimes don't like to on other people's discussions. People also have different opinions so rating responses in other member's discussions seems a bit of an odd thing to do. I have done some and will do more in my own but have not had many responses yet. I do not study it all of the time but is the number beside our name just for comments as mine did not seem to increase when I started discussions?

I don't know if you just see the site they will pay you. But, one suggestion to help you get paid more is to write longer, detailed comments and responses. I know this may seem hard, but I know you can do it.

You sound like you are doing really well with your English. I am glad you don't just come here to earn money. I have found that it is harder to earn when you are just here for money and not to have fun.
