why nearly all cultures have a religion. i know we are in an scientific world, and many people dont believe in god anymore, at least the say so, and the influence of the religion in our dauly life is very less. Many people claim to be atheistic, and modern people like to live theur life how they want, without religious rules and thinkings of sins and so in. But on the other side, there IS still religion everywhere! Buddhism is more than 2500 years old, christianity 2000 years. islam 1500 years. some of them may seem to be weak in the moment, but they are still here. And every atheistic movement was not as rather as succesful as they are. whats the reason religion, in all its differencies, from lamaismus to juddhism, from baptism to hinduism, is something deep inside humanity? why every culture on this earth developed something strange like religion, rituals to a person or thing you cant see nor describe?????

religion, in my opinion is here because people like to have something constant to beieve in and rely on. even when everything else is falling apart, people like to feel like they have something that is always there with them. thats where some religion comes into play.
personally, i am a spiritual person, but not a religious person. i don't believe in a god of any sort, but i take time to get to know myself and help others, and try to look at teh bigger picture in life rather than just what is happening to me and in my life.

I agree with your posting, I am not religious nor am I an Atheist. I have science in my life and that is what I CHOOSE to base my beliefs off of, guaranteed I will pass those beliefs to my children, just like anyone else. The worst thing about organized religion is that IT DOES NOT BRING PEOPLE TOGETHER! It only brings like minded people together and anyone who does not accept the doctrine gets left out, and most of the time ostracized.
Organized Religion tears at the fabric of humanity, it makes us different, it points out the arguments that we have and amplifies them so the whole world has to hear the fight. Just look around and you will see that I am right, most organized religion does not try to understand anything, it just wants you to be fearful and follow dogma.
We are HUMAN on this planet, no matter what race, religion, or creed we are, there is no reason not to accept and love each other just for that reason. I hope that someday people will see that, that being here on this planet and being Human is the most important journey of all.

Religion is what we follow in our life. For example, the Christian religion. The doctrines or teachings of the Christian religion are laid down in the Holy Bible and Christians should follow them. To Christians, the Holy Bible is the Word of God and it is the truth. The Christian religion is not strange.
