Work at home offers / myLot

I have received offers for work at home that is identified as bookkeeper. Receiving money orders and depositing them, after they clear wireing the money to the said company or individual of a said company. I have tried to verify the source, but I cannot. Any suggestions? sypvara@yahoo.com

This sounds like a scam. Why would they need to hire someone to do this? Here on myLot, type in "work at home" and you will get some good information.

This is a scam. The money orders they give you are fake. Once your bank figures this out, they will take the money out of your account, and/or contact the authorities. I have been looking for a legit bookkeeper job that allows me to work at home, and have received this scam many times. It's very frustrating because they post the jobs to look like a legitimate opportunity, but once you get all the details, you realize you've wasted your time, again!

I am currently working on setting up fully my work from home job with a company that I love. Dont go anywhere near any of them. They are all scams. There is no such thing as money for free. Above someone mentioned Best Cash Rewards, they are free but you will have to make some effort to join up and get three other people to do the same. It is good though. Otherwise, you have to invest time and/money to make money. I am with Success University and have actually made some real money there. If you are interested, ask me to be your friend and then send me a mail to remind me and I will give you the link. That is the only money (apart from MyLot) I have made on-line but it is well worth having.

From what you have described, the thing seems to be a "scam". You will at best end up working hard and not receive any payments for it. And it can be worse. You might get caught up in some legal trouble or some. Please dont fall for such "scams", at least till you can verify the "source"!!

This is the classic "Money mule" scam. Indeed, you will receive money orders, you will be able to cash them in and send them to the location indicated by the scammer. The problem is that the money order won't clear, so in a few weeks the bank will be calling the Police and you will be involved in a Police investigation. I don't think someone can be prosecuted for placing some money elsewhere; personally I was involved in this scam as a money mule for Israeli Brokerage Services Inc. I knew it was a scam but I played their game and when they sent 500$ I just took'em out of the bank and went to spend them on small stuff. When the Police came I told them I knew nothing about the scam, but I wanted to scam that company myself at my own risk (of course I knew there was no company, just a scammer behind everything). But I wouldn't advise you to do the same... I live in Romania :D
