why do you work?

I work primarily to sustain my family's needs. I work not to tire myself but for self-fulfillment. In instances when work causes someone to neglect family, then it's not worthwhile after all. We work for a reason and if that reason is gone, then the essence of working is futile.

I work also to provide food and shelter to my family. I balance family and work together. My priority is family and then work. Its good to work because by working you contribute and you accomplish something and gives you some fulfillment that you doing something with your life. Even at home you still work. So work is a part of you.

I work now to help pay the bills while my husband isn't able to. Under normal circumstances when I was working my two businesses it was more just for me to have something to do while he was away for the military and because I loved it. Hopefully it will be back to that way soon. I love what I do but when I have to really think okay I need to make this much to pay this bill it isn't as much fun and no longer is it relaxing as it usually is.

It is true. We all work for a reason. If due to the work, the reason itself suffers, then, there is no point in working. We need to strike a balance to maintain the relationship with both the family and the work.

I am happy to say that I don't 'work'. I do something I love in order to have more time for my family and to ultimate provide my family with all that we dream about. I set my own schedule, work when I can and help others to be able to do the same. It is the life I imagined for myself and I am loving it.
