Buddhists can worship both at home or at a temple. It is not considered essential to go to a temple to worship with others. If they worship at home they often set a side a room or a part of a room as a shrine. There will be a statue of Buddha, candles, and an incense burner. Buddhist temples come in many shapes, the best known are the pagodas of China and Japan.

I would be interested in knowing more about buddhism. what i have already studied in dfferent religions is that basically all are common about the human values, moral values and social values. all speak of love, equality, justice and honor. all have spirituality that goes parallel with life. the differences at many places are of interpretations and understanding of text about higher wisdom, thought processes and details of social, and practical life systems. It's always interesting to know and read about the beliefs, practises and details of other religions.

Buddhism is a religion that focuses on the mind. It is a religion that tells you how to live the present moment with awareness. Buddhism is not about worshipping gods, it is about conquering your mind.
All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.
"Buddha"
It is a man's own mind, not his enemy or foe, that lures him to evil ways.

Buddha himself said talking about topics such as who created the world do no good for you. There are 4 noble truths in Buddhism. They are
1.Life means suffering
2.The origin of suffering is attachment
3.The cessation of suffering is attainable
4.The path to the cessation of suffering
Buddha also talked about impermanence. Nothing in this world is impermanent. Hopefully I have cleared any doubts that you had on buddhism.
Also if you are interested you can read this article from Ajahn Sumedho.

Somewhat true however a shrine etc really isnt necessary by any means...the world (Earth) for example IS my shrine and I dont worship anyone or anything....and IMO in Buddhism 'worship' isnt required and for some its actually UNacceptable...
Buddhism though classfied as a religion its really more of a philosophy of life and a beautiful one at that...

i want to clarify the whole worship thing....Buddhists DONT worship in the sense of "bowing down to a higher power" for example like Christians do with God/Jesus....the word "worship" to a Buddhist is simple to show respect and appreciation to someone or something we admire or hold in high regard I suppose you could say.....To me personally its not "worshipping" simply because that term is generally taken to mean "bow down" or something similar...
