Metallica vs. Mercyful Fate

I'm not asking who's the better band, but if you've heard Metallica's Garage Inc album, then you know that they did an awesome medley of 5 Mercyful Fate songs. My question is which versions of the songs do you like better, Metallica's or the original Mercyful Fate versions? I do like the originals alright, but I have to go with Metallica. James Hetfield is one of my favorite singers, and King Diamond's vocals sometimes seem as if they counteract the bad@ssery of the awesome guitars at times. Sometimes, his voice is just right for the song he's singing, but for the ones that Metallica covered, I like the cover songs a lot more.

Are you talking about St. Anger? I have to admit, that one did suck pretty bad, but Garage Inc is from 1998, before St. Anger and after Load and Reload. It was released around the same time S&M was (and if you haven't heard that, you might want to, it's awesome). Garage Inc is all cover songs, but I like some of their versions better than the originals. They cover Blue Oyster Cult's Astronomy, Turn the Page, the Misfits' Last Caress, and a few Diamond Head songs, which were a huge influence to them.

What songs are they? All I know is that Lars Ulrich and King Diamond are both from Denmark and are friends. Lars even plays drums on "Return of the Vampire" in Mercyful Fate's In the Shadows album. I used to listen to Garage Inc more than 10 years ago and can't really remember.

The songs in the Mercyful Fate medley on Garage Inc are Satan's Fall, Curse of the Pharoahs, Corpse Without Soul, Into the Coven, and Evil. All but Corpse Without Soul are originally from the Melissa album.
