Hi Mel, oh that is wonderful I am proud of you as well that you are doing this to help the babies unit. Oh yes you will get very tired but it will be worth it. No I have never done a sponsored hike but I have given money to help raise the money they needed, and I did feel great about that.

I have not done one yet myself, but I do have a few friends who have. I've also chipped in to sponsor a few times myself. Most often, these events take place at a time I cannot be there or to do it, but if the opportunity like "walk for a _______ (fill in blank line with the good cause)" I would. In addition to helping raise needed funding for the cause, it is also good exercise for doing that walk or hike.

wow thats great mel. yes we did, my kids and me did it all years for several organizations. for the zoo, for WWF, for children in need, for abused women and so on. it was a good thing to do it together. unfortunately i cant do it anymore, but my kids still do it every year.

I haven't done a sponsored hike, I used to take part in 24 hour dart marathons to raise money. Remind me to sponsor you.
One tip, try to get people to pay in advance, as you do get promises that are not kept and it is a big downer.
Another tip, make sure you get a receipt for the monies handed over.
This will be a great day for you, and honestly six miles isn't as bad as it sounds, especially if you find someone to natter to along the way. Have fun and remember to post back as to how the day went, and whether you would do another one.

That is wonderful. You are doing a good deed. It will be summer and I wish for great weather and you and your friends to have an enjoyable time. I can't recalled if I've done anything like that. My memory is rather hazy on so many things way back. Lol. But I remember I was a blood donor.

I hope the weather will be good. I will pray the weather will be sunshiney but not to hot so your hike goes well.
