Why is it when someone is so totally bitter they take out their bitterness on someone else?

I don't know I guess it makes them feel better to try and ruin someone else's day!! I hate it. When I am in a bad mood I try not to take it out on anyone else!

I try never to take how i feel out on anyone else but i have often been on the recieving end of someones bad mood

There's an old saying about this. Misery Loves Company. When people are in a bad mood, they want to make sure everyone around them is too.

They think it is their God-given right to unload their excess baggage on others. It's hard, too, when you're working on internalizing your own feelings and problems to get hit in the teeth with someone else's angst.
