I might make same decision like you if I face this situation. If he already asked divorce, it means he decided to not trust me or give up our relationship.

If my partner asks for divorce I will first ask why then of course if it's really what he wants I will agree. There is no need to refuse anyway and refusing will only make things worse. I can not force myself on somebody who doesn't want to be with me anymore.
