i cannot figure out which wires are pos. or neg. for my 1999 isuzu rodeo

Most speaker wiring harnesses that I've seen have the two wires for each speaker be the same color, with a white or black stripe on one of the two wires. For speakers, I believe that they will actually work either way. You could also sign up for AllData DIY at http://www.alldatadiy.com. That gives you access to every wiring diagram and other bit of information for your vehicle, for I believe only 19.95 per year. If you sign up for more than one vehicle, everything after the 1st one is only 14.95.
