No wonder my body objects!

Yesterday the temperature got up to 80 F. Tonight it is blowing snow and we are expecting a freeze. Yesterday is was gloriously sunny. Today dreary, damp, grey. My body is screaming at me like I have something to do with the weather. Doesn't it know I can't change it? Geesh. Give me a break. How's the weather where you are and what is your body saying?

Yes, I hate it too. I was so thrilled to have an early spring. Guess I was quickly spoiled by the lovely weather. And I have had to go out every day this cold week, when what I really want to do is stay where it is warm and cozy!

They just said on t.v. that the windchill is below 0 F. NOT FAIR! O.K. Like I always tell my kids: Life isn't fair. And whoever said it was, lied. :-)

I got the same weather as you and my fibromyalgia is showing it's ugly face. All I can do is stay in and try to keep warm and not agrivate my body. I can't believe I was walking downtown in a t' shirt the day before yesterday and now we got a light dusting of snow. I'm sick of winter and even more important my body can't take it anymore. This can't go on much longer thank goodness.

Our weather is much the same. The weekend before last, I was visiting my daughter and we had to drive through three snow blizzards. The following Thursday, I was sitting in the park just soaking up the sun. Last Wednesday, it was snowing and now for the past week, we have had glorious Summer weather. It is expected to stay this way for the weekend, so I am going to spend as much of my time as possible out in the garden.

Enjoy some of the sunshine for me, please. Our winter-like weather is supposed to hang on through Easter. So I'm wearing my winter coat again. Bone chilling after being used to the lovely sunshine. Mother Nature is such a tease.

I am very new to this site, but this topic is of major concern for me. I was diagnosed with this about 3 years ago. I have been told that I have a very rare case of fibromyagia. Do you retain fluid? I have to take lasix (water pill) sometimes twice a week to get the fluid out of my legs from the knees down around my ankles. I can barely walk. Does anyone else have this same thing going on? My doctor says that it is very rare and he has seen only a few cases. I am miserable.

No, I've not seen this in anyone else. You must be rare, definitely you are special! Does it respond to elevating your feet and to exercises that pump the fluid away? I know that the system that moves fluid around in ones system, the lymbic system, has no pump but depends on the movement of the muscles. If we don't move our legs much that allows the fluid to stay there where gravity pulls it. Propping your feet up for a few minutes and "pumping" you feet like flippers could help keep it circulating. And strangely enough, cutting back on your fluid intake only makes it worse because your body thinks there is a shortage and hangs on to the fluid tighter. It must feel like you are walking with concrete feet! How awful to feel that way all the time.
