I once dated a guy who's just a year younger than me. He's so immature, insecure and possessive! He wants a mom to cater to his needs, too. :-)My boyfriend now is just a year older than me, but he is so responsible and secure.
Women mature earlier that men, so we should pick men who are older than us.

Personally, I don't really have a specific preference. I don't mind an older or younger guy.
The most important thing is that the guy must be suitable for me. He must be mature and there must be chemistry between us.
I have dated both older and younger guys. Older ones tend to be more mature and more experienced but they can also have lots of emotional baggage. The younger ones may be less mature but they also lack emotional baggage because they might not have had to go through a whole series of failed relationships in the past.
But these are just generalizations because some older guys don't really have emotional baggage. Also, some young ones may be very mature for their age. So it really depends on the individual.

I generally prefer men who are older. I dated a guy who was a year younger than me last year, and it just felt weird. I guess that it has more to do with maturity and where you are in your life than your actual age, though.

Currently I'm involved with a man a bit over 11 years older...my ex-husband was five. My boyfriends in school tended to be a year older than myself. I don't think older means more mature, in the case of my boyfriend, we're at the same maturity level now.

Hi! I have never dated younger men. I dont have anything against them. Some young men are actually more mature than older men. And vice-versa. But my preference are older men. Maybe just a few years older than I. For one thing, they have more experience and mature (I hope!) and as we grow old at least he will DEFINITELY look older than me. I wouldn't want to look older than my date.
Thanks for this post. Have a great day!

I dated a guy that was 9 years older than me. That was a pretty big difference when I was 23. My parents probably would have flipped, but it was so much fun for me. I learned alot about myself then. As far as maturity goes, he didn't have much more than me. We were just something for each other to do at that time in our lives. I married someone 2 months younger than me, so I guess I could go either way on that one!! I definitely made the right choice out of the two of them!
