Has anyone ever heard of type three diabetes. Well, earlier this year, a lady told me that she had type three diabetes. Of course, I assumed that she was completely off her rocker. But being the type of person that I am, I knew that I could not completely discount it, until I looked it up. Sure enough, there is a such thing as type three diabetes. They say that it is when you have both type one and type two diabetes. They also call it double diabetes. To me, that is got to be one of the most horribe things to have. It would require a serious balancing act. Now I have to be honest, the information that I found was not easy, I had to do some digging, I wish I could remember the link, but when I found out that this person didn't in fact have any type of diabetes and she really was nuts, I saw no reason to save the link. If I should find it again, I will add it to this discussion.

hi rozie! well i do not really know what the 3 types fo diabetes are, however, if i may share- my mother has been down with it, and it has partly caused her early "off" from her teaching sting here in Dumaguete Philippines. Maybe i am unconcious about it but for sure since i'm one of her sons--- blood that runs thru me (God forbids!) has also some sort of diabetes to a certain degree i suppose. but for me one of the best antidotes of diabetes, aside of course from dietary considerations and medicines --- is not at all medicines, but, CHARACTER. when you're strong enough to face it squarely, coupled with prayers and a vegetarian diet, then, this disease can somehow not to feared at all! that is why my own mother is always strong until now even when she's retired.

You are absolutely right about prayer. It changes things. James 5:16, states that the effective, fervent prayer of the righteous avails much.

Yeah my father has this type. His can drop low or get to high. I try to be careful with eating to much junk because of worring about getting it myself. My mother has low blood sugar. I already have multiple sclrosis so i don't need this to add to it.

I am so sorry to hear that your father has this. It sounds like a mean struggle to balance your diet. I am also sorry that you have Multiple Sclrosis. A cousin of mine was diagnosed with this when she was sixteen years old. The doctors were saying how rare it is to be diagnosed with this disease at such a young age. I pray that you have the best life possible, in Jesus name, amen.

your post interested me, so i did some research myself, and yes, there really appears to have type 3 diabetes, but it's something that does not affect blood sugar levels, but is linked to alzheimers. details are found in this link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/4315609.stm

Personally, I have never heard of Type 3. I was told that I am now Type 1.5 due to other Health reasons, and will always need Insulin for the rest of my life, but this really is due to other Health reasons as well. Wish you could have included the Link you found so that I can look it over. To me, this does not really seem possible.

Googling 'type 3 diabetes' shows articles of studies linking it to alzheimer's disease.

I've never heard of type 3 diabetes. I've heard of type 1 and 2, but not of type 3. It's amazing to think that there is such a thing. My boyfriend has diabetes, and he has to take insulin shots every day. He also has to make sure that he eats right, and exercises every day, as well..
