Are you worried about global warming?

Yesterday in my Physics class we were discussing global warming and although the most devastating effects are a long way off, our weather sees the effects today. Are you worried about how much the climate is changing around you? Do you think that the government should do more?

To tell the truth I am very worried about global warming. Especially as this year there have been some visible changes in our climate such as winter with no snow and almost no cold (quite unlikely the winters before) and now even the spring is warmer than it should have been... I even read that somewhere in Russia the winter was so warm that the bears woke from their hibernation. :( I also worry for the polar bears which are probably gonna become extinct in a few years if it goes on like this because they won't be able to find rest and food now that the glaciers at the pole are melting :( All in all the world around us is filled with changes due to global warming and to tell the truth I preferred the world the way it was before :(

See here we had a horrible winter like we haven't had in a long time. It didn't get as cold but we had lots of snow and we hardly ever have more than one big storm. It's been really hot since March but now its gotten cold again. The weather makes absolutely no sense. I hadn't heard about the polar bears, thats horrible.

I believe we know that pollution is something that we shouldn't do becuase there will be some bad results. I just wonder why we don't do more. Sometimes I wonder how the world will be in the future (in 20 years) because much of the ice will be melted.

Two effects of fossil fuel productions are Greenhouse gases that cause global warming there By-products which are pollutants that cause global dimming The by-products are also pollutants, such as sulphur dioxide, soot, and ash. These change the properties of clouds. Clouds are formed from water droplets by air-borne particles, such as pollen and the by-products. Polluted air results in clouds with larger number of droplets than unpolluted clouds, these clouds more reflective. So more of the sun’s heat and energy is reflected back into space. This is called as Global Dimming. The effects of global dimming have led to fears that global dimming has hidden the true power of global warming. Most climate change models predict a 5 degrees increase in temperature over the next century, however, global dimming has led to an underestimation of the power of global warming and this could be as much as 10 degrees. Sorta gives you something to thing about

Don't buy it, if we are doing something, then how come the other planets are warming as well. Its the sun, it just does this sometimes!

Maybe some of its the sun, but we can't know much about the other planets as well. Global warming is real and its all our fault.
