How do you call your boy/girl friend, husband/wife? Is it "baby"? "Babe"? "Honey"? "Sweetie"? Do you think it's cheesy?

I call my boyfriend "bobby" He HATES it. His name is Dustin so he thinks im callin him my exboyfriends name. (because i did date a guy named Bobby) But really I picked it up from my little cousin. He couldnt say baby so he would say "look at the bobby". It is still funny to see him get all upset over it. He calls me "baby" but only when he wants something. When in public I call him "ruffles or lace" again, mostly because it embarrasses him & I think its funny to see his face & ears turn bright red.

I call my boyfriend "sweets" or "boyo" and sometimes he calls me "baby" or "hun". I think it's cheesy, but why can't things be cheesy and cute all at the same time?

It all depends on other people's perception. But we should all respect however couples call each other.

My ex boyfriend used to call me "lovey". I used to call him "lovey", "babe" or "sweetie". At that time, I was in love so it wasn't cheesy at all. Now, looking back, I'm like, rolling my eyes hehehe
