Hey, what breeds do you all show and how long have you been showing? I have Bearded Collies and have shown AKC conformation for 8 years, just started a little herding too.

I got into the dog fancy when my mom bought our first registered Siberian Husky, Aly. She was already a CKC Champion, but we puttered a bit in the show ring before we bred her. This was all about 15 years ago. Needless to say I started with Siberians, but being a Canadian I was granted the liberty to do Juniors with many different breeds. I still have a 5 year old Siberian that I finished, but she's spayed now (I have zero interest in breeding for now), we're working obedience and agility, and I am planning to get a male Pembroke Welsh Corgi in a few years (or whenever the breeder has an exceptional male she's willing to part with). How'd you get into showing?

I have family members that got me into it. My grandparents bred field Gordons, two of my aunts stayed in dogs. One has Aussies and one has Bouviers. I started a bit late because my mother was not thrilled about having dogs again, but she finally came around. . somewhat lol

That's cool, my mom just lost her Bouv at 12 in December. She's been toying with the idea of getting another, but she was sort of thinking of getting something else like a Black Russian Terrier. She needs a guard dog, though, the Sibes would lead a burglar to the silver.
