sleep: are you getting enough?

true or false? the elderly don't need as much sleep as younger people? bleary-eyed drivers can stay awake better by cranking up the car stereo and rolling down the windows? nighttime shift workers eventually readjust to their late hours? boredom makes you tired? they're all false. only once did children get taught about sleep in school. it was the night before an exam, and the children were told to get a good night's sleep in preparation. that's it. most of us need 8 hours of sound sleep to function at our best, and good health demands good sleep. most people are averaging only about 7 hours of sleep a night. one in three gets only 6 hours a night. people have no idea how important sleep is to their lives.

Alarm Clock - Not enough sleep makes me cranky
I sometimes only average 3 hours sleep in a night, especially when the insomnia kicks in. I would love to get a full 8 hours sleep but it never happens. Sleep is so important but I never seem to get enough rest these days.

it's hard when you've got insomnia. 3 hours is torture for me. try a warm glass of milk..sometimes old remedies help, lol!

With the kind of work I have, since I am working for a call center, rendering good customer service to the people in America, and I live in the Philippines. Makes my body clock go the opposite time I should be sleeping. My day becomes night and my night becomes the day. It is so hard to adjust. Specially at this time of the month that it is so summer, and it's hot to sleep at daytime. I usually get 3 to 4 hrs. And how unhealthy I feel now.

i used to do night shifts as well, and girl, it's so tiring! you get used to it that's true, plus the night enhancements, lol! but i still find it hard to sleep during the day. but some people, plakda kaagad sila sa kama, grabe, lol!

astig yung mga ganun.. I am always wondering how did they do that... ngek ako nga I need sleeping pills para makakuuha ng mga 8 hrs or so... I am really used to sleeping at night.... argh...

There are many other things that are much mre important than sleeping. The life is very short and i believe in living it to the fullest. If I have to go to a party at any hour, I"ll surely rush to it. Having a good health is definitely good but that can be achieved with regular exercises with your friends, having nice and balanced food with your family and a lot of love.

Like what they always say, we are wasting 50% of our lives by sleeping everynight. Aahahaa... instead of enjoying the short life brings... somehow, don't u wish the body only requires an hour sleep?

I dont think I a getting the enough sleep, I wake up in the morn at 6:00 and go to bed in the night at 12:00 .. the whole day I feel very tierd.

Yes,i know it's important to sleep enough.But I find the average time to sleep in my life is 6 1/2 hours per day.Maybe it made me sleepy in daytime!

I believe whatever age we may be, we should get atleast 6 to 10 hours of sleep a day. Infants need more sleep becaue sleeping develops every part of their body. It is like a building process while sleeping.It goes the same woth young or adult alike. During the day we consume so much energy and our body is fully functionin, At night time resting or slepping revitalize all the nergy and repairs all what has to be repaired while resting. BUt if there is no sleep or we lack sleep the repair system of our body will not function well and you will totally destroy the human body.Goodnight sleep energizes you the next day and makes you feel alright and think positive.

well, if you overslept, you will still feel tired and more lazy.. so now isn't very confusing???
