Im sitting here looking outside and wishing for the warmer months to come. I just realized it will soon be time to stock up on sun screens, hats, waterjugs etc... Im wondering how many of you protect your kids from the harmfful UV rays and what prducts you use. Do you use lip balms as well? Do you make sure they are well hydrated? My kids dont go out the door without their sunscreen, lip balm, hats and a bottle of water or juice. Those are my rules. In fact there are some days where i make them come out of the sun to get a break to try and avoid heat stroke. So whats your story?

i protect my boys - it's pretty warm for easter so today they had long sleeve t-shirt on just in case and shorts. It wasn't really warm enough for sun cream but I put long sleeves on in case, lol. we have Avon Kids factor 30 or 35 which goes on purple making it easier to see where I've been, lol. I found some last year that I could spray on hair too, which helps when hats fly, lol. I never use suncream thats been opened the summer before as I was toldthat it looses it's preotection, not sure if it's true but I'd rather replace it in case. Summer brings ats, paddling pools, the beach and sea-shoes, I can't wait!

wow, where do you live / if you dont mind me asking. we had snow all day here, i live in nove scotia, our weather is crazy. im also a fan of avon sun products, i use the lip balm and sunblock. have you ever tried there aloe gel, its fabulous for after the sun, in casse of sun burns or just the heat, really soothing. i dont use the colored stuff, i dont know why though lol. i never use old stuff, always buy new, its safer. thanks for posting, mandy

I'm in England, but my boys are fair skinned, we get so little sun that it seems to be really harsh when it visits and puts it's hat on, lol. I haven't tried the aloe vera for aftersun, will probably try it now you've said. We have som Avon Glitter aftersun - also good as you can see where it's been and even boys seem to like the glitter, lol.

I'm really big on sun protection, not only for my daughter but for myself and husband as well. I lost my grandmother 2 years ago due to skin cancer caused they thought by all the years she overexposed herself tanning when she was younger. I actually got a call from my best friend like 3 days ago who asked me to go to the dr. with her to have a cancerous spot removed from her shoulder. She loved to tan and would rarely burn. She now says she'd rather be pastey and live a long time than be tan and die before her time.
