Has anyone heard this term before? Basically it means that if a stranger does something nice for you out of the blue, you should pay it forward and do something for someone else.Has anyone here payed it forward?.I was at a milk bar one day and an elderly person was buying some milk and bread and they were a few dollars short on their payment.Even though I was short of money myself at the time I payed the difference for them. The elderly person asked me why I would do that for a complete stranger.I told them that someone had done that for me once and I really wanted to pay it forward. It gives you a great feeling to do something to help someone. The world would be a much better place if more people were willing to pay it forward!

Yes I have heard of this saying before about pay it forward, I have done this a couple of times in my life as well. I also have helped out complete strangers and don't they get a surprise and wonder why you are helping them out but then again later it has happened to me and someone has said when I was short here is a dollar so that I could buy the item so it pays off when you are kind of others.

I;ve never heard this particular expression before .. but it sounds a bit like the UK equivalent of 'what goes around comes around' .. and if someone does something good for someone else then in turn they find something good happens to them .. and the reverse of course if it's a bad thing ..
All my life I have always stepped in and offered to help out where needed ... and you never know when you might need a few pennies yourself ..

this is one of the best post i hae seen yet, thank you for posting it, have you ever seen the movie
pay it forward?? if not i wuld recommend it to you
it is an old one but great movie... i try to do something good every day, the one thing i do the most is pray for other people, and they usualy dont even know im praying for them some i dont even know,
like every time i see someone broke down on the road,
i pray that god will watch over them , help them get back on hte road, safe and send good help soon, and
that the car does'nt need much repairs, it sounds like a
big prayer but i've been paraying that one for four years, and i think its what keeps me from breaking down, seeing as thats a big fear of mine, and i also
pray before i leave home, and have had many incidents where we have almost got hit or someone
wrecked right in front of us and if we'd been a few
min sooner it wuld have been us. so i bless others with my prayers and i feel greatly blessed in return myself God is wonderful....

Wow! Now, this is an old quote. You don't here it much sadly. Mainly, because no one does this anymore. I wish people would. I have done such things for nice people I meet... Well, as nice as they come I guess. Another thing that has slowly left us with time. O well, I am really glad to here there are some good people left in the world :)

Yah...when I was staying in Melbourne, someone passed me his bed (free) coz he has graduated and was leaving. I payed it forward by passing the bed to another student(free) when it's time for me to leave. On top of that, I sold my bookshelf, computer table, 2 portable heaters, 1 color printer, CD racks to the same person for A$100. The rest of the stuffs like laundry basket, Tefal kettle, cutlery sets...etc are free gifts.
