Living outside your country

What's the longest period you've lived (while working or going to school) in another country? I lived in malaysia for 4 - 5 months last years. That's the longest for me.

I've lived in Singapore for almost 2 months and I love it. At first I was so homesick, I wanted to go back home and talk to my friends but eventually I got used to it, and 2 months is just a little time. I love everything about singapore, all I do is swim and watch DVD's all day long. Go to Malaysia or Indonesia and swim again. Sight seeing is also very nice.

I have lived outside my country at a stretch for almost four years, but when I got back I had difficulty with the climate here.However,being in a different country is nothing like being among your friends and family.
