Cohabitation or Marriage

I am a chinese, with a very traditonal idea towards marriage, although i was highly educated. but one thing i am sure that the following comments represent many Chinese's, Asian's idea. sometimes i can not figure out the difference between marriage and cohabitation. some people may say that the difference lies in the responsibility, to marriage means more responsibility, but to cohabitation less, some may say that the marriage involves social recogniton or other things, but what i exactly means is the differences on feeling. Let's just put those so-called responsibilities aside , and just look into the changes being brought with marriage and then we will see there are no difference between cohabitation and marriage as long as you love each other. Maybe i would to say that marriage is only the legal symbol recognized and acknowleged by the law. To me, it's not that important to marriage or cohabitation, the only thing concerns me is whether the way we are staying together will bring us happy or not. How do you think about it ?
