Today 5th April, at 11.15am, a cyclist was hit and killed by a truck on Blackburn Road at Clayton, in Melbourne's south-east, near the junction with Wellington Road.
The male cyclist died at the scene from his injuries.
My husband witnessed the aftermath of this terrible tragedy whilst out of the office on a leg-stretch. He noticed the road being closed off and wondered what had happened. Deciding to investigate, he walked further on and saw ambulances and police cars. The Ambo's were sitting around not doing anything, the police were busy interviewing witnesses and he wondered why someone had put a white tarpaulin in the road with the handlebars of a bicycle sticking out from underneath... then it dawned on him, that there was a body underneath.
He couldn't bear the thought and the sight of it, so he made his way back to the office and told what he'd seen. No one believed him, until someone pulled the latest news off the web. It was true. The cyclist had fallen of his bicycle and into the path of a truck.
I saw in on the evening news and felt very sad.
Please every one take care, have a safe and happy, Easter and see you back after the long weekend. LOL

Hi there, with a name like Weemam I thought you must've come from Scotland, before I looked at your profile! Tailbacks are a nuisance, we get a lot of them here in Australia, mainly people rubbernecking to have a look at what'a going on. Nosy buggers! Thanks so much for responding mate! LOL

Oh! that was really a tragic event my friend. I really think everyone of us specially on holy week should be more cautious and more focus on driving.
In our subdivision last night a teenager had accidentally slip on the road because of the candles that are use in the procession. The teenager was badly injured and it was good friday.
Have a solemn holy week my friend hear from you soon!!

It is a shame that your husband had to walk up on this terrible accident. What a shame. I am sure that it did shake him up for a while. Thank you for reminding us to all be safe over this holiday weekend. Happy Easter to you and your family.
