about Christians have to obey the laws of the land as long as it is not against God. I discussion started when I post a link about a girl telling her classmates about Jesus and they they took her to court. Well anyway she won. Their was a responses from a teacher who said she was a Christian and herself would not allow the girl to talk about Jesus because of the law. I have a questions here. Wouldn't it be against God not to spread the word about Jesus? Daniel went against the law when he knelled and pray toward Jerusalem 3 times a day. He was not suppose to pray to his God only Nebuchadnezza god. What is the difference? Please share your thoughts.

Hi! As a parent, I expect my child to get her religious education from me and her dad, not other kids at school. We are not christian, and I personally don't want other kids trying to convert my daughter because they are allowed to talk about and preach christianity in schools. I don't think it's appropriate. The home is the place for religious education. The school system is already christian - they celebrate christian holidays. It's not right that christianity is the only religion allowed into schools in the first place.

Brandi_girl, Duh! This nation was NOT founded on christian principles. The Bill of Rights and the Constitution were written to AVOID religious oppression, NOT create one religion's supremecy over another. What did they teach you in school? Now, when was the last time your public schools had a Hanukkah party, or a Rhamadan party? NEVER! Because the schools celebrate christian holidays. They have halloween, christmas, valentine's day, and easter celebrations in school. There are no other religion's holidays celebrated in school. Duh!

How is the school system "Christian"! They aren't allowed to speak of God at school, they aren't allowed to pray at school so how is it Christian??!! You're not making sense! It SHOULD be based on Christianity but it's not. No one should be forced to follow Christian ways but if you live in America then you should know that this land was founded on God! Duh!

I agree with you. God expects us to share his message with everyone we meet. The fact that the Bible was taken out of schools and prayer also shows how far downward our country has gone. Our founding fathers came to this country to have freedom of worship. I don't believe in pushing anything on anybody because that will never win someone to the Lord. But if you have a chance to give your testimony and witness to someone then I believe we should GO FOR IT!! That is what is expected of us. I'm so thankful this little girl won her case!! I hope that more and more children her age and in higher grades too will be proud to stand up and say Yes, I am a Christian and not back down and not be ashamed to stand up for their faith.

For starter... you are quite wrong about your first sentence. The law of the land comes first. Religion comes second. When the Us made bigamy against the law... the Mormons decided to abide by it...even so their religion said bigamy was alright. However... if you live in a christian country... it is highly unlikely that the law will conflict with God. As for preaching the word about Jesus... if you do it in the wrong place... or force it on people who don't won't to know about it... it is nothing more than spamming... and it should be against the law. I know that you believe that it is your duty to preach the word of Jesus. But just because you believe in something... does not make it right.

Thank you, Milesapha! The Constitution and the Bill of Rights were written for EVERYONE and not for christianity. For some reason, the "christian right" thinks it can lay claim to it. The men who wrote these documents just came out of religious oppression, why on earth would they write documents that only support the church system that just oppressed them?

I do know my history mjsdls... Religion did cease to rule in 1400BC in Europe when the first governments were put in place. America had not even been discovered yet at that time. And if you look at what catholics did in those first 1400 years... christians prefer not to know about it... because it was nothing more than genocide.

Any law against God will not be followed by me! That's what I think about the whole ordeal! I think it's ridiculous to take a young girl (still in school!) to court because she decided to take pride in her religion and speak to others about it! This country was supposable founded on God but this country is corrupt in their laws and way of thinking! Don't get me wrong, I love my country (USA!) but it's going down hill and getting ridiculous!

Now we are in a Global community ......As far as I concerned we should obey the law of the land....My opinion is the rule of religions should stop.......Religion and the worship of the God should leave to Induividuals....No Govt. or authority or any other religion should not interfere in that......I dont think that it will be against God, if we are not spreading His word.....We should not Spread His Word forcefully......We should not show disrespect to the other religion.....We should have the tolerance.......But the situation in the countries ruled by Religious Fundamentalists are very poor. Religious Fundamentalism is very dangerous.....Eg:Taliban rule in Afganisthan .... Please refer the Novel Lajja (Shame) written by Taslima Nasrin......In any society we should respect each other, their religion, their worships, their place o worships, their language and their traditions...Then we are living in a good quality society

I agree with you. Religions are within the individual, and no state should persecute others because of what they believe. Religion should be a good thing, it is supposed to be used for good. Sigh, religion is used to justify some actions.

I really dont care of the law and its thoughts or takes on religious issues we are all free people and should live in that way. Law should be there to protect us from harm and not bind us.

Hi! It is not against God if you don't preach His word. What's against Him is if the one preaching is making people believe the other way around. I have read in the bible that God is angry at those preachers who do not give all the right info. Misleading people is a sin that God wouldn't ignore. That is why we are being told by Jesus to test every spirit if the spirit is talking from the Scriptures or talking for the benefit of himself.(something like that) If a person doesn't know the ins and outs of the bible, its better not to spread anything than lead another blind man in the hole.

As far as I know, there is no law stating that a student can't dicuss their religious deity of choice in school. They had no right to take her to court for discussing Jesus. As for whether or not it would be against God not spread the word about Jesus - that's a concept relative to Christian believers and wouldn't hold up in a secular society.

Where does she live? In the united states its not against the law anywere for religion or such to be talked about or proclaimed in any school. The a.c.l.u lost that case, they may try to threatin with some sort of suit to scare a school but it will fall, the case fell already. Jesus did say this would happen and you know what.. Lets see it stop me, let them toss me in Jail for proclaiming the good news, guess what, then i'll have to proclaim it to the prisoners and the staff. We as Christians need to draw the line here and now, there should be no more bending, no more swaying in the wind to satans will. We must make this stand, proclaim the good news to all. Things will only get worse before they get better. "the harvest is plenty but the workers are few"
