Thin or thick soup?

I have learned to love soups, and since I have included this in my diet, I have come to realize that it made me feel more "full" and satisfied. I prefer thin or clear soup, though, to that of thick soup. I don't know any reason to this except that I got used to sipping hot clear soup whenever I got sick, and it has helped me get well sooner! How about you, what's your preference?

well i would probally say thick because i dont have soup much because i like a texture but i guess it all depends on the soup like miso soup in japanese restaraunts are amazing but thin . where as its good to have a thick tomato soap in my opinion. so i guess it comes down to the type of soup and maybe a little person prefference, cheers Plunt (hmm all this talk about food in the forums is making me hungry)

I know. I'm actually munching on chips right now (as in "hey, what happened to the soup? I thought you were dieting?")..hehe. I love miso soup! I'm not much into thick tomato soup, though. You're right, personal preference. I just want to know what kinds of soup members prefer. Thanks for the response!

I like both. Gotta be homemade though. I love my homemade veggie soup, made with beef & lots of veggies. The broth is from the meat cooking & tomato juice, with spices added. I also love my family's recipe for german potato soup. It's thick & creamy. We use cheese instead of milk, that's why it's creamy instead of watery. If I'm sick, I like chicken noodle, or just chicken broth.

Wow! I'd like to try all those you've mentioned! I might even enjoy the thick soup (German potato soup). I will look that one up. It's also good that you mentioned the cheese instead of milk. I'm not a milk person, so that would be a better alternative. Thanks for the response, mommamichelle!

I loved all types of soup except for thick soup which are salty and creamy. I prefer thin and clear soups which are piping hot. Hot, spicy and sour thin soups are also out for me as my stomach does not like it. I agree it is really satisfying after gulping down a bowl of hot soup after a meal :P

Now this got me really hungry and craving for a bowl of hot soup! I also love spicy soup, like the kind I had in Thailand when I visited. Too bad your stomach couldn't take it. I usually have soup anytime during the course of every meal, or just the soup itself is fine with me. Thanks for the response! Happy myLotting!

Oh, we have the same taste in soup! My favorite is actually chicken soup, too. It's almost lunchtime here and I will prepare one for myself. It's easy to prepare and is very tasty. Thanks for responding and happy myLotting!

I am not a big fan of soup and probably never will be. I do not know why. However when I do choose to have a bowl of soup I prefer think over thick. I just don't like thick soup because it is too much. I mean I already have trouble finishing a bowl of thin soup, so thick soup isn't exactly my best choice. I do not hate soup, it is just not one of my favorite appetizers.

Now this is interesting! I thought that everyone loves soup and are totally satisfied having meals with soup as appetizers! Hehe. This goes to show individual preferences indeed. I found your response funny and straightforward. I like that in a response. Thanks for the response and happy myLotting!
