Caramel Creme Cake

Take a regular box of vanilla cake mix and make it according to package directions. While it is still hot, take the handle end of a wooden spoon and poke holes in the cake...approximately 1 inch apart all over the top of the cake. Pour in this creme sauce: Mix 1 can of sweetened condensed milk with 1 bottle of caramel Magic Shell Ice Cream topping. (You can also use chocolate Magic Shell) Heat in the microwave until warm, but not hot, hot. Place cake in the freezer for 1 hour. Frost the cake with cool whip topping. You must keep cake in the fridge until time to serve. This is a great cool, summer treat and your friends will think you slaved for hours. You don't have to tell them how easy it is!~

Wow that sounds wonderful. My daughter is home this week and she is in the process of making a pasticho (spelling) cake and it is so good too. They are up in the woods digging ramps now for lunch.

what exactly is a ramp? I don't believe I've ever heard of it. I'm assuming it's some kind of root vegetable that grows wild?

Well, You'll be more excited to know that I have tweaked it and it's even better than before. BUT I can't share that recipe yet, because I've entered it into the pillsbury bakeoff and I'm not allowed to have the recipe posted anywhere until they announce if I'm a finalist or not.

I made this to take to my daughter's fiancee's family Easter dinner on Sunday. It was a huge hit. I think there might have been one piece left!

Be sure and let me know how it turns out and if your family liked it. I am going to try it next time with Strawberry or maybe even chocolate magic shell, just to see what it tastes like. This recipe is my own creation, so I guess I can do that huh? lol
