I have a 3 year old son that is my true joy and blessing in life. He's cute, cuddly, lovable and a PAPER EATING MACHINE! I catch him trying to hide behind the couch just to eat paper! My Doctor said it may be a vitamin deficiency but I don't know...anyone else have a similiar situation with their toddler?

lol my nephew likes to eat paper too - receipts, writing paper, toilet paper, you name it. And he's only 10 months! But I think every kid goes through it... it might not be vitamin deficiency, it could also be just that they like it. The texture's different than food, and eating it is one way to explore it. It's like eating glue. :P

My son used to try and eat the paper when he was at the childminders but that was because they fell out :( and he would do anything to make her mad !!
But as above i would try a vitimin supplement that may help the craving of wanting to do it

Hello MissDylynne! I also heard that it's quite normal for toddlers to munch on almost everything. Because at this age, they rely on their taste buds, to discover and recognize new things. My kids were like that before and it was a real challenge to leave them unattended even for a split of second.~~lol And if it's a vitamin defiency, maybe to supplement your child with a good multi-vitamin syrup will help. I hope I have helped you in a way. Happy Mother's day! (^^,)
