You just need to get moving and keep a pad of paper and pen handy for when that inspiration hits you. You can make notes and then refer to them if you wake up one day and get that urge. Then sit down and do what you can. If you get 'stuck' then you go get busy until it comes back. It does happen and as long as somehow you maintain some balance you will get back on track. Good luck with this.

I am a writer and guess what - I get that all the time...and when I do I take a break, get a cup of coffee, a walk or something that will take my mind off what I write.
Sometimes after I write too much I cannot even talk coherently or spell well-

Yeah, all the time, mainly when I need to write something down that is important to my stories I just can't seem to form it into words for a short while.(it annoys!)
When I'm here though I can just add to discussions with ease using my own opinion as a spring board!

Yes, i do sometimes. And definitely not welcomed as sometimes that comes during the middle of an assignment! What i would do to get the creative juices flowing again is to read a book on the topic i'm writing on or if i'm burned i'll go catch a movie or hang out at the arcades. Business would resume normally after that.
