How do YOU do it?

As we all strive to live in faith, how do YOU do it? How do you keep your faith when you are having hard times? Are there 'tricks', or reminders? I know that God walks with me, as He has proven it time and time again. I guess I get frustrated with myself when I let all of my worries get to me to the point where they shake me. My hubby always tells that I need to have faith...I HAVE it, but there are times when I fall victim to the pressures of the negative.

As a pagan I find it quite easy to live in harmony with others because I know that all my actions will comeback to me threefold. I dont live in fear of a hell nor the hope of a heaven. I live well and for the benefit of mankind everyday. I dont need a punishing god to make me do what i should do. I live free without taboos and that makes me a tolerant and undestanding person. I have no represions and I live with what comes my way. I dont need faith because I see wonder of nature and its inspires me to live in harmony with the earth. I value life in all forms above all else because we do not know of an afterlife and we should live fully today.

Although I do believe in God, I think that you also have a very great idea to be living in the way you describe...basically living by the Golden Rule, to treat others as you wish to be treated yourself. I think that all things good that we put out in the world for the benefit of others makes us better people. I will continue to work on my faith so that I can get closer to what God desires me to be.

Some times hard times are just plain hard times. There is little we can do than just hang on. It is not our fault or the next persons fault either.
Hang on and just wait for God to bring it all to an end. Sometimes during those hard times it is purely just our faith carrying us thru and we don't even know it till well afterwards.

What gets me through a really hard time is thinking about a time before when I felt pain or worry and got through it. I also try to think of how blessed I am in other areas of my life. Even little things can lift your spirits. Look to others as well. You aren't the only one thinking about a particular worry. We are all different, but share many of the same dilemas. I just keep thinking that whatever the problem is, it will pass. It always does.
Keeping a journal can help see what things you have gone through and reminds you how strong you really have become or even how silly a certain worry may have been in hindsight.

That is what I tell myself...to think back to so many other shaky times when things have ended up turning out OK. Nothing lasts forever, good or bad, right? One thing I have found I am getting better at since setting my mind to it is that every day I try to be grateful for the most minute thing...it really helps.

I'm in the same boat as you. For me during those times when the negativity comes very strongly, I speak verses of the bible to myself of God's promises, like "All things work for the good of all those who love Him," and "Forever God is Faithful".... Make little note papers of the verses of God's power that really speak to you and carry them with you so that when those time come, you're faith is strengthened that way.
Hope that helps. God bless you!

What i always do.I'm calling someone or mail someone to help me renew my faith.I have the feeling i'm not growing so i call someone who can call me.People always tell to have faith but they don't realise that's not the problem.Sometimes you just need a hug from someone a helping hand from a human. Why don't you try that just talking to someone and keep praying.
