Call Waiting Rules

Is it rude to answer call waiting when talking with someone in a casual setting (not work)? Are there certain circumstances in which it would more acceptable than others?

call waiting is designed to answer an incoming call even if you are talking to someone already. for me its ok to put me on hold if my friend wants to answer the next call because it might be important. thats the good thing about it u cant miss an important call and i know your friens would understand it if you are just talking casually .
