How often do you clean your kid's bathroom?

I have only one three year old and he is not yet potty trained. I am thinking about starting that very soon. He has a bathroom of his own and we do not use it for ourselves much. He bathes in his tub and he has a lot of toys for bathing which stay in the tub all day. We do use the sinks for ourselves too, but the toilet is not much used. My son like to play in the bathroom and would lie down on the floor, drop his toothbrush on the floor and do such things that make me panic. I fear he might get sick because of germs because I clean his bathroom once a month only. Am I too lazy? Should I clean it more often?
Please suggest.

If I were you I would give his bathroom a quick clean at least once a week. There's no need to go crazy with the scrubbing - swish and swipe ought to do it - but yeh leaving it for a month is maybe a bit long.
I have to say you're all very lucky in this thread to have more than one bathroom in your houses! We have the tiniest house on the planet. One bathroom, two bedrooms, living room, kitchen. That's literally it!

I would clean it more often than once a month, personally. We have one bathroom, but it is just me and my husband and a baby on the way. I keep a spray bottle of all-purpose all natural lavender cleaner under the sink, and I usually spray down the tub every few days and wipe it down, the sink gets cleaned every few days, and I sweep the bathroom probably twice a week and mop once. The toilet I clean at least once a week. Even if it's not getting used, dust and things settle on everything so I like to keep things wiped off.... it takes very little time, you could even do some light cleaning while watching your child in the tub.

I clean all of our bathrooms every week, on Mondays. I use to go longer inbetween cleaning it but I realized that if I do it often it is alot easier. And it doesn't get as messy...but if your son doesn't use his bathroom too often Iw ouldn't really worry about it!!

before, i clean their bathroom twice a week. but now i teached them how to clean it and they have their cleaning time now their bathroom is cleaned 4 times a week. i deligate the reponsibility of cleaning their bathroom, they ar 9 and 7, and they now know how to clean their rooms and bathrooms. by the way how old is your kid? if you think they can do it give them the reponsibilty of cleaning their bathrooms .. on the first week supervise them and after that theyll be ontheir own.

I straighten my kids bathroom everyday and disinfect it once a week. My kids are 5 & 7 and when they were 3, due to the same concerns as you, I cleaned it a little more frequently (not much more) but for the most part, I did not encourage actual "playing" in the bathroom (unless they were in the tub or reading a book on the potty).
