Sure, I would date someone who didn't drive. I live in a town with reasonble public transit, so it's probably not like I would be driving them everywhere... people who don't drive usually compensate by becoming really good at "getting around" by other means.
I did date someone who drove, but whose acute social anxiety (almost agoraphobia) had kept her from behind the wheel of a car for years... and there I DID drive all the time, because she wouldn't get near public transit, either. Not sure I would willingly enter into THAT kind of situation, again.

I just think that driving is such a major thing these days, I often wonder why people don't have that responsibilty if they don't drive. I had too dated someeone who didn't drive and I can honestly say I will never go there again..LOL

I did date someone who didn't have a car. He had a drivers license, just not a car to go with it. I didn't mind so much. It wasn't a big deal to me. What did end up being a deal breaker in that relationship was when it became apparent that he didn't have a car because he wouldn't hold down a job, and just generally relied on the good will of those in his life to help him get by. That I can't deal with.

Yeah, I guess a lot more can go with the notion of a non-driver. It does seems like lazy thing to me-of course not all people don't need to drive-but as you mentioned the ones who definitely rely on others to get them all around. I think it is ridiculous. I think as a teen, it is both a freedom and a responsibilty taught. If anyone else reads this particulr comment, I hope I didn't offend anyone....

Well Princess, the word is CANNOT, not WILL NOT, right? I once dated such a guy and the reason why he couldn't drive was because he didn't have his own car and he didn't feel comfortable using someone else's just in case he might break it. And moreover, I know for sure that if he could, he would have not allow me be his driver unless it's necessary. So, it wasn't the problem for us. Besides, we could always use public transportation together...=)
The case would be so much different if a guy can actually drive yet he refuses to do so because he likes the so called pampering by us, then it would be a problem, wouldn't it?

Um , well for starters most people do drive. I was merely asking because I personally think it could create one harship for one person if they always have theat responsibilty. But because neither one of you drive, you would not understand that.
